Sending your blood sample back to the lab is easy and hassle-free — we'll show you how in this article.
Depending on which blood test you have ordered, you will receive a different amount of collection tubes — please ensure you have filled the tube(s) up to its required line(s) before you pack and return to the lab.
Once you have completed collecting your sample;
Fill out the label sticker with your name, date of birth, sex, and time and date of your collection date.
Once filled out, attach the stickers around the tube, sticking both ends together so that you don't overlap the sticker.
Place tube(s) in its protective case, ensuring you've closed it tightly to avoid a spill when it's en route to the lab.
Seal the protective case(s) within the biohazard bag, along with the Patient Record card you have filled out.
Now that you're all ready to send off to the lab;
Insert your biohazard bag into the pre-paid grey mailing bag and seal tightly.
Post your sample back to the lab via a Postbox
Please note - because the mailing bags are prepaid, they may not be accepted by the post office; because of this, we recommend that you simply return your sample back through the post!
The quicker it gets to the lab, the better. You should aim to post your sample to the lab on the same day.
Please note that you should avoid taking your sample on a Saturday as it may spend too long within the postal service and your sample may no longer be viable.
