Occasionally a resample is needed
Sometimes a retest is required and requested by the lab. Don’t worry, we've got you covered. We will dispatch out a replacement kit free of charge!
There are several reasons a retest may be required, which are explained below.
Insufficient sample
Sometimes your sample is marked “insufficient”. This is because not enough DNA was collected on the swab so the lab could not run your analysis.
Contaminated sample
If your sample is marked “contaminated” this indicates foreign microparticles or substances have affected the viability of your sample. Often, this is due to food having been consumed within 30 minutes before taking the swab.
Please note
- When taking the DNA test make sure to rub the swab in the inside of cheek firmly for 30 seconds.
- When taking the C-19 swab test to ensure you are swabbing the very back of your throat for 30 seconds.
