Description

Safely manage used needles, lancets, and other sharp instruments with this sharps bin. Built for reliability in both domestic and clinical settings, it provides a secure, puncture-resistant solution for disposing of hazardous waste. The sturdy lid and clear labelling help minimise the risk of injury and support proper hygiene practices in any environment.

Directions

Prepare the Bin: Place the sharps bin on a stable, flat surface within easy reach during medical use. Ensure the lid is open and secure.

Dispose Immediately: After use, carefully place needles or other sharps directly into the bin without attempting to recap, bend, or break them.

Do Not Overfill: Stop using the bin once it reaches the fill line or is approximately three-quarters full. Overfilling increases the risk of injury.

Seal for Safety: When the bin is full, close and lock the lid securely according to the manufacturer’s instructions to prevent any leakage or access.

Arrange Proper Disposal: Follow your local guidelines for disposing of hazardous waste. Do not place sharps bins in regular household waste.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

How full should the bin be before I seal it?

Stop adding sharps once the bin reaches the fill line marked on the side, or when it is roughly three-quarters full. Overfilling increases the risk of a needle-stick injury when sealing or handling the bin.

How do I dispose of a full sharps bin?

Once sealed, do not place it in your normal household waste. Most local councils offer a sharps collection or drop-off service, and many community pharmacies will accept full bins. Check your local council website or ask our pharmacy team at info@rightangled.com for guidance.

Can I put other types of waste in the sharps bin?

No. Only sharps (needles, pen tips, lancets, scalpel blades) should go in. Other clinical waste such as swabs, dressings or empty vials should be disposed of separately according to local guidelines.

Is it compatible with the pen needles sold on this site?

Yes. The opening accommodates standard pen needles, insulin syringes, lancets and similar small sharps. Simply drop the used needle directly into the bin after use without trying to recap it.
